Regenerative Organic Certified® - ROCTM - is a revolutionary certification for food, textiles, and beauty products. It is the global benchmark for soil health, farmworker fairness, and animal welfare, and guarantees compliance with the highest standards.

The Regenerative Organic Certified® initiative, led by the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA), promotes holistic farming practices based on the USDA National Organic Program and other recognized criteria.

The essence of regenerative organic agriculture

Regenerative organic practices aim to maximize carbon sequestration in the soil by increasing carbon-rich soil organic matter. This has the effect of reducing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and reversing the greenhouse effect. By using nature's own practices, regenerative organic agriculture begins by building healthy soil.

These practices also prevent deforestation, one of the greatest threats to the climate, and halt desertification and soil degradation.

Regenerative organic agriculture avoids synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, GMOs, and chemicals. It incorporates cover crops to improve soil quality, minimize erosion, and store carbon. Composting provides natural fertilization, while crop rotation and planting diversity improve soil health, biodiversity, and yields. Food and fiber crops strengthen the food security of farming families, while no-till practices conserve water, promote soil life, and increase carbon storage.

397 farming families and counting

To date, KnowledgeCotton Apparel has converted 397 of its cotton-growing families in 27 villages in the Adilabad district of Telangana state in India to the highest organic standard: Regenerative Organic Certified®.

In total, this corresponds to 901 hectares of land and 1,090,000 kg of raw cotton harvest.
