Wooden Store, the identity of an Italian brand
Lara, a sales representative at Clothette in charge of Wooden Store, has a well-practiced introduction to present the brand to a buyer: "An Italian brand aware and proud of its identity: the offices, the boutiques, and even the workshops that manufacture the products are located in Italy. Not to mention the inspiration of the collections, which is linked to Italian culture."
Wooden Store opened its first boutique in the Verona area, before developing a network of its own boutiques in northeastern Italy. This network allows the brand to test its new models in Italy and in retail before introducing them to international markets. A product only arrives in France once it has proven itself. "It's a very efficient validation process," summarizes Lara.
The brand has a team of 15 people, which implies real proximity with its partners, suppliers, clients, or showrooms. "A proximity that allows a fast flow of information; it's efficient and allows for working in good conditions." Lara gives a concrete example: the very quick organization of an event in October 2026 celebrating a pop-up in the Kiliwatch boutique, thanks to the human proximity between the contacts.

A Japanese inspiration at the heart of the identity
The brand's three founders took a trip to Japan together that deeply influenced the artistic direction of the brand. This explains the presence of kimonos in many collections, and a whole series of subtle references to Japanese culture: Japanese-style design labels, the silhouette of a sumo wrestler on the Big Japan jeans label, and the Oyo overshirt, inspired by traditional Japanese workwear.

What sets Wooden Store products apart
Cuts designed to flatter
For Lara, Wooden Store's primary strength lies in its cuts. "The brand's pieces are comfortable to wear. The cut is more elaborate than what is found in brands of an equivalent range level." The brand's stated objective is to make an outfit elegant with simplicity, without relying on eccentric materials or patterns, even if there are a few touches of them each season.
The size chart is designed to adapt to many body shapes. The most telling example is the Japan jeans and its spin-off, the Big Japan, pants with a dropped crotch that work well on different sizes and builds.

100% Italian manufacturing
Wooden Store's production is carried out entirely in Italy, in workshops with which the brand maintains long-standing relationships. Antoine, CEO of Clothette, visited the workshops during the brand's 15th anniversary and was able to meet the workers. This local production has a cost, which is reflected in the prices, justifies a clear positioning, and guarantees a certain quality.
The brand produces in controlled quantities and voluntarily limits restocking so as not to end up with large end-of-stock surpluses. This requires forward-planning in ordering and allows for a more reasoned production of the collections.

Materials in transition
The materials extend the work of the cuts: flattering the silhouette through simplicity. The AW26 collection combines wool and cotton blends. For the coming seasons, the founders have a clear ambition: more natural sourcing. If materials matter in your selection, this direction has a solid place in your customer storytelling.

AW26 Collection: the key pieces to remember
"Wooden Store approaches each collection pragmatically: a coherent set of well-made pieces, balancing commercial appeal and style. Themes and narratives play out at the scale of a single piece or a capsule, rather than that of the entire season," reveals Lara. Each piece therefore exists for its own qualities. Best-sellers are carried over and reworked season after season rather than being sacrificed for systematic renewal.
Another approach to tailoring
![]() | Over the seasons, Wooden Store has invested in "soft tailoring": here, Shibuya pleated trousers, paired with a blazer. "The brand has been developing a softer vision of tailoring for a few seasons now, and it is finding its audience. It is a style that some men look for in daily life as well as for wearing during special events." This set represented a significant share of the orders for the AW26 season. |
The matching set that simplifies everything
This outfit combines the Balera Jacket and the Big Osaka, a set carried over each season in new colors, materials, and patterns. For AW26: a navy blue pinstripe cotton, with a tight weave. "The simplicity of this combination makes it highly versatile, suitable for most occasions." In boutiques, the selling point is immediate: the customer who chooses both pieces leaves with a complete look, easy to wear and possessing a strong identity. | ![]() |
The Peak Japan: denim that adapts to all body shapes
![]() | The Peak Japan is a spin-off of the original Japan model, a brand classic. The dropped crotch is preserved, but with a wider and longer cut to adapt to larger builds. The piece is presented this season in green denim with visible topstitching. "It's a rare color for denim, but also subtle because it's easy to wear." |
The Military Overshirt: the carried-over workwear jacket
The Military Overshirt is inspired by military jackets from the 70s and 80s: two large patch pockets, a slightly cropped cut, dropped sleeves, beige and neutral tones. "There is a coherence between the inspiration behind the garments and the final result. The shape here dates back to the 70s, and we have kept the main features." | ![]() |
The wool cardigan: knitwear as a sign of quality
![]() | On this wool blend cardigan, available in charcoal and ecru, the Wooden logo sewn onto the sleeve is the current version. The sleeveless vest worn over it features the diamond logo from the early days, more vintage, from the years 2011-2012. A consistency and evolution that speak volumes about the care given to every detail. |
The Balera tapestry: the image piece of the season
The image piece of the collection, the Balera jacket cut from a tapestry fabric, can be combined with the Japan jeans in the same fabric to form a set. "These are the image pieces and materials of the season." This type of piece plays a specific role in the assortment: it is not the best seller, but it communicates the brand's identity on the racks and generates attention. | ![]() |
Heading to the Wild West: Dallas denim
![]() | The Dallas jeans, introduced this season, illustrate the return of bootcut denim. Dirty and aged wash, 70s look, slightly flared cut at the ankle. "The washed aspect of this product fits into a 70s-80s register." A direction consistent with the vintage denim trend observed in the market for several seasons. |
A balanced silhouette: balloon pants
The balloon pants, carried over for several seasons, confirm their status as a safe bet. "It's a must-have and timeless piece. It gives a very beautiful silhouette to the wearer and pairs very well with many t-shirts from the collection." Its wide bottom cut complements the volume of more boxy and cropped tops. | ![]() |
For which customer and which boutique?
Lara describes a final customer between 35 and 45 years old, urban, rather trendy, and sensitive to trends. A target that is gradually getting younger, thanks to the contemporary cuts of recent seasons.
Geographically, Wooden Store is found in Brittany and Loire-Atlantique as well as on the French Riviera or in the Alps, between Lyon, Grenoble, and Annecy. Further afield, an international expansion is underway towards Belgium, the United States, and Reunion Island.
For boutiques distributing Universal Works or Knowledge Cotton Apparel, Wooden Store is a complementary offering in the menswear segment: well-crafted cuts, Italian manufacturing, an affordable price for the quality offered, and advantageous commercial terms.
