For their Autumn–Winter 26 collection, the Danish duo conjure a baroque Venetian atmosphere in the heart of Copenhagen.

A Venetian Night at Tivoli Gardens

By taking over H.C. Andersen’s Castle, opposite Tivoli Gardens, Awa Malina Stelter and Stephanie Gundelach wove a subtle link between Danish fairytale and the timeless majesty of Venice. Inspired by a quote from Andersen himself about the City of Doges, the collection captures the quiet opulence of the Italian city at dusk.

The Collection

Light and Shadow: The Nocturnal Palette

The inspiration first unfolds through an intense chromatic atmosphere. The collection plays on the contrast between darkness and glow. Deep shades of chocolate, plum and olive evoke the shadowed corners of the canals, while pale, luminous notes recall façades lit by street lamps. A duality of softness and strength anchors the collection firmly within the season.

Canal Reflections: Fabrics and Textures

True to its responsible DNA, OpéraSport works with materials that catch the light. Fluid recycled satins and sequined surfaces mirror the shimmer of water, while tassel details — inspired by a vintage lamp discovered by the designers — bring movement. Layered lace and touches of faux fur add depth, evoking the faded yet warm splendour of palazzo interiors.

Venetian Architecture: Silhouettes and Tailoring

The garment construction echoes the architecture of the setting. Tailoring becomes sculptural, with pleated blazers and cinched waists shaping a strong silhouette. Scarves transform into trompe-l’œil skirts, and the show culminates in an unexpected vision of the “accidental bride”: a crisp white corset and skirt ensemble, closing the runway on a note of modern purity.
