Sunspel launches its second collaboration with Nigel Cabourn.
The British luxury brand Sunspel is preparing to launch its second collaboration with the renowned British designer Nigel Cabourn.
This collaboration, which is following the success of its first capsule at the start of year, celebrates craftsmanship and British design, by combining Sunspel’s heritage of textile innovation with Cabourn’s signature design language.

Inspired by pieces drawn from the rich archives of the two brands, the capsule consists of a range of garments made from original fabrics. Ventile, a waterproof fabric created in the 1930s, is used for a double-knit jacket that reimagines an army sports jacket dating from 1981 and taken from Cabourn’s archives.

The collection also includes a wool-cashmere Balmacaan coat crafted from wool sourced in Great Britain, as well as a soft Merino crewneck sweatshirt with a large collar, made in England. The capsule is completed with a long-sleeve striped polo and a shirt, both produced in Sunspel’s Long Eaton factory from emblematic Supima cotton jersey fabrics.

“ I’m very proud to work with Sunspel”, says Cabourn, “in particular with experts in the jersey of the Long Eaton factory. For this collection, we were inspired by pieces from the archives of Cabourn and Sunspel, as well as from my personal vintage collection, which includes nearly 5,000 special pieces."

“ Our collaboration with Nigel, an emblematic British creator, brought a unique perspective to both of our archives. We have reimagined unique reference pieces through our refined approach to fabrics and our manufacturing expertise, thus giving a contemporary touch to these vintage garments,” says Sunspel.
Founded in 1860, Sunspel is a British luxury brand that made elegant pieces ready-to-wear from natural materials of better quality. The brand enjoys a global reputation for its innovative fabrics, its quality without compromise, and its timeless design. Sunspel created the first luxury shirt in the world, introduced the boxer to Great Britain, and designed its Riviera polo for James Bond.
The brand has always made by hand all its classic shirts in its factory in Long Eaton, England, where the company has been established since 1937.
Today, Sunspel possesses stores in the United Kingdom and the United States, is present in the main retailers around the world, and ships its products to more than 200 countries.
