BARACUTA x ARIES / A collaboration centered on upcycling
Published

The London label Aries joins forces with Baracuta to rework two timeless silhouettes of the British brand through upcycling.
London luxury streetwear brand Aries and British brand Baracuta team up for the first time on an exclusive capsule collection, upcycling two timeless outerwear silhouettes from Baracuta with typos and Aries' classic Greek logo.

Conceived ten years ago, Aries' graphic language serves as the starting point for the celebration, with its eclectic style and cultural references from the 80s and 90s. The collections are combined with a meticulous approach to design, with production based in Italy.
These same values are shared by Manchester-born Baracuta, whose commitment to "Made in the UK" gave birth to the original Harrington jacket.
The collaboration focuses on the contrast between the two brands, reinterpreting the classic Baracuta look juxtaposed with Aries' sharp design and style.
The reworked jackets from the collection are captured in the busy streets through the lens of photographer Winter Vanderbrink, renowned for his work on urban youth culture and the stressful intensity of city centers, highlighting the contrast between the harshness of concrete and the softness of youth.

Drawn from the Baracuta archives, the original Baracuta fabric G9 Harrington jackets and classic G12 Macs are reworked and laser-engraved at the Aries factory in Northern Italy. No two jackets are identical, as they are adorned with repeating Aries Greek logos and antique columns throughout the design, reminiscent of Aries' famous destroyed denim. Retaining their iconic Fraser tartan lining and available in Army Green, Tan, and Black colorways, the jackets feature a detachable classic Aries silver and gold carabiner and a genuine leather tassel, celebrating the streetwear label's signature touches.
The Aries x Baracuta laser-etched G9 Harrington jacket (€460) and the G12 in laser-etched fabric (€695) have been available since Wednesday, May 15th at Aries (ariesrise.com) and Baracuta (baracuta.com) and at the Aries flagship store in Soho, London.
